Every Virgin Media Hub ships with a unique admin password. No two routers have the same one. Check the pull-out card on the bottom or the sticker on the base.
How to Log In
- Connect to the Virgin Media WiFi. The default network name and password are on the router's base card.
- Open a browser and type `http://192.168.0.1` into the address bar.
- Enter the admin password from the base card. The username field is either `admin` or blank depending on Hub model.
- You're in the Virgin Media Hub admin panel.
Changing Your Virgin Media WiFi Password
- Log in at `192.168.0.1`.
- Go to WiFi or Wireless in the sidebar.
- Find the Password or Network Key field.
- Type your new password. Use at least 8 characters.
- Click Apply. All devices disconnect and need to reconnect.
Using the Virgin Media Connect App
The Connect app is the easiest way to manage your Hub without typing IP addresses.
- Download Virgin Media Connect from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in with your Virgin Media account.
- The app shows your network status, connected devices and speed test results.
- Tap WiFi Settings to change your password or network name.
Modem Mode (Using Your Own Router)
If you want to use your own router instead of the Hub's built-in WiFi, switch the Hub to modem mode:
- Log in at `192.168.0.1`.
- Go to Advanced > Modem Mode.
- Confirm the switch. The Hub's WiFi turns off.
- Connect your own router to the Hub via Ethernet.
Troubleshooting
Can't reach 192.168.0.1. Make sure you're connected to the Virgin Media WiFi or plugged in via Ethernet. Try clearing your browser cache.
Lost admin password. Factory reset the Hub with the pinhole Reset button on the back (hold 10 seconds). The original password from the base card becomes active again.
Slow speeds. Run a speed test through the Connect app. If speeds are below your plan, try restarting the Hub. Persistent issues - call Virgin Media at 150.
Hub in modem mode, can't access settings. The admin address changes to `192.168.100.1` in modem mode. Try that instead.
