How to Change Your Etisalat WiFi Password - Step by Step

Log in to your Etisalat router at `192.168.1.1`, go to WiFi settings and change the password there. Default login is `admin` / `admin` on most models. The whole process takes less than two minutes.

Etisalat (now rebranded as e&) is the largest telecom provider in the UAE. They provide Huawei and ZTE routers to their broadband and fiber customers. Changing the WiFi password works the same way on all models - you just need to find the right admin IP first.

Step 1: Find Your Router's Admin Address

Check the sticker on the bottom or back of your Etisalat router. It shows the admin IP, default WiFi name and password.

Step 2: Log In to the Admin Panel

1. Connect to your Etisalat WiFi (or plug in an Ethernet cable).
2. Open a browser and type `http://192.168.1.1` into the address bar.
3. If that doesn't load, try `http://192.168.100.1` (Huawei fiber ONTs) or `http://192.168.8.1` (Huawei mobile routers).
4. Enter `admin` as both username and password.

Step 3: Change the WiFi Password

1. In the admin panel, look for WLAN, WiFi Settings or Wireless in the menu. The label depends on the router model.
2. Find the WPA Pre-Shared Key, WiFi Password or Security Key field.
3. Delete the old password and type your new one.
4. Use at least 8 characters. Mix letters, numbers and a special character.
5. Click Save or Apply.

Write down the new password somewhere safe before you hit Save. Once the router applies the change, your current device loses connection too.

Changing the Network Name (SSID)

While you're in the WiFi settings, you can also change the network name. Look for the SSID field. Replace the default Etisalat name with something you'll recognize. Avoid using your apartment number or personal details in the name.

Changing the Admin Password

The admin password protects the router settings. It's separate from the WiFi password. Anyone who knows the admin password can change your WiFi settings, redirect traffic or lock you out.

Change it under System > Administration or Account Management. Pick something different from your WiFi password.

Troubleshooting

Can't reach the login page. Make sure you're connected to the Etisalat router, not a different network. Try all three IPs: `192.168.1.1`, `192.168.100.1`, `192.168.8.1`.

Admin password doesn't work. Etisalat may have set a custom password during installation. Check the device sticker. If you still can't log in, call Etisalat support at 101.

New password doesn't save. Some Etisalat routers require the password to be exactly 8 characters, or they reject special characters. Try a simpler password with just letters and numbers.

Want to reset everything. Hold the Reset button on the back of the router for 10 seconds. Factory defaults are restored. Use the sticker credentials to reconnect.
