TP-Link Router Login - Admin Access via tplinkwifi.net

TP-Link routers use `tplinkwifi.net` or `192.168.0.1` as their admin address. Older models use `admin` / `admin` as default credentials. Current models ask you to set a password during first setup.

Quick answer: Open http://tplinkwifi.net or http://192.168.0.1 in your browser while connected to the TP-Link WiFi. Older models: admin / admin. Newer Archer and Deco models: password set during first setup.

TP-Link is one of the most popular router brands worldwide. Whether you have an Archer, Deco, TL-WR or a range extender - the login process is the same.

TP-Link Admin Addresses

MethodAddressWorks on
Domain (current)tplinkwifi.netAll current TP-Link routers
Domain (legacy)tplinklogin.netOlder TP-Link models
IP address192.168.0.1Most TP-Link routers
Alternative IP192.168.1.1Some ISP-configured models

TP-Link retired the `tplinklogin.net` domain a few years ago. It still works on older devices, but `tplinkwifi.net` is the current standard.

How to Log In to a TP-Link Router

  1. Connect to the TP-Link router via WiFi or Ethernet cable. The default WiFi name is usually "TP-Link_XXXX" (with random characters).
  2. Open a browser and type `http://tplinkwifi.net` into the address bar.
  3. If the page doesn't load, try `http://192.168.0.1`.
  4. Enter your password. On first setup, create a new admin password. On older models, use `admin` / `admin`.
Don't search for tplinkwifi.net on Google. Put it directly into the address bar. Sounds obvious, but it's the number one reason people can't reach their router's admin page.

Using the TP-Link Tether App

Tether is TP-Link's companion app. It works with Archer routers, Deco mesh systems and most other current TP-Link products.

  1. Download TP-Link Tether from Google Play or the App Store.
  2. Connect to the TP-Link WiFi.
  3. Open the app. It discovers your router automatically.
  4. Sign in with your TP-Link ID or local admin password.
The Deco mesh system requires the separate TP-Link Deco app. Tether doesn't work with Deco devices.

Changing Your TP-Link WiFi Password

  1. Log in at `tplinkwifi.net` or `192.168.0.1`.
  2. Go to Wireless > Wireless Security (older UI) or Basic > Wireless (newer UI).
  3. Change the password in the WPA/WPA2 field.
  4. Click Save. The router may reboot. All devices need to reconnect.
You can also change the WiFi password through the Tether app under Tools > Wireless.

Setting Up a TP-Link Deco Mesh System

Deco devices don't use the web interface for initial setup. You need the Deco app.

  1. Download the TP-Link Deco app.
  2. Create a TP-Link ID (or sign in).
  3. Follow the in-app setup wizard. It walks you through placing units and naming your network.
  4. After setup, you can access advanced settings at `http://tplinkdeco.net` or `192.168.68.1`.

Troubleshooting TP-Link Login

tplinkwifi.net doesn't load. Connect to the TP-Link WiFi first. If you're on a different network, the domain won't resolve. Try `http://192.168.0.1` as a backup.

Forgot admin password. On newer models without a default password, you need a factory reset. Hold the Reset button for 10 seconds. On older models, try `admin` / `admin` first.

Wrong IP address. Some TP-Link models use `192.168.1.1` instead of `192.168.0.1`. Run `ipconfig` (Windows) or check your WiFi settings (phone) to find the correct Default Gateway.

Firmware update. TP-Link regularly publishes firmware updates. Check under System Tools > Firmware Upgrade in the admin panel, or update through the Tether app.
